COLTS NECK, N.J. - Naval Weapons Station (NWS) Earle will conduct a series of security training exercises during the week of Aug. 10, 2015.
The exercises are designed to train installation security and emergency management personnel and are not in response to any specific threat.
Measures have been taken to minimize disruptions to normal base operations. However, there may be times when the exercises cause increased traffic or delays in base access in the vicinity of the Naval Weapons Station (NWS) Earle Mainside (Route 34, Colts Neck) or Waterfront (Route 36, Leonardo) gates.
Area residents may also see increased security activity associated with the exercises. Additionally, residents in the immediate area may hear announcements over the station’s emergency broadcast system - to eliminate any confusion with possible real-world events, all announcements related to the drill will begin and end with the statement, “Exercise, Exercise, Exercise.”
