FORT EUSTIS, Va. – Army Brig. Gen. Renwick Payne, The Adjutant General of the District of Columbia National Guard (DCNG), visited here to meet with Joint Task Force Civil Support Commander, Army Maj. Gen. William F. Roy, and key staff to gain an overall awareness of the JTF-CS mission Aug. 12, 2015.
Payne’s visit provided him the opportunity to speak with JTF-CS leadership and personnel. He toured the JTF-CS facility including the Mullan Hall entrance, mobility center, and emergency response staging areas.
He received a briefing which offered discussion on the topics about mobilization involving reserve component authorities, mobilization exercises and chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear training.
“This engagement is vital to our mission,” said Mike Collins, deputy to the commander, JTF-CS. “Learning and understanding the capabilities of other military commands are vital to the rapid employment of our forces and saving human lives.”
In return, DCNG briefed JTF-CS members on their mission, capabilities and assets in the capabilities as well as the ability to augment JTF-CS and the Defense Civil Response Force mission.
JTF-CS anticipates plans and integrates U.S. Northern Command CBRN operations. JTF-CS provides command and control for designated DOD specialized response forces to assist local, state, federal and tribal partners in saving lives, preventing further injury, and providing critical support to enable community recovery.
