    99th Readiness Division

JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, N.J. – The Army Reserve’s 99th Regional Support Command hosted a mass medical-readiness event here Aug. 8-9 in an effort to increase Soldier readiness throughout the northeastern United States.

More than 300 Army Reserve and Army National Guard Soldiers had the opportunity to take care of their Periodic Health Assessments, dental exams, vision screenings, HIV blood draws, immunizations, hearing tests and LOD processing.

“The goal of this event was to support the unit commanders in our area of responsibility and help them improve their units’ medical readiness,” said Col. Concetta Holloway, 99th RSC command surgeon.

“It’s a medical one-stop shop,” added Capt. Latasha Thompson, health services HR manager for the 99th RSC Surgeon’s Office.

Attendees also had the chance to update their temporary and permanent profiles.

“We have a lot of Soldiers who continue to get temporary profiles, or Soldiers who have been hurt for a while and need to be on some type of profile,” Thompson explained. “This was a great time for Soldiers who need a profile to speak to the physician or physician assistant one-on-one and bring in the medical documentation so we can look over it and perhaps see if you do need a temporary or permanent profile.”

The 99th RSC’s mission is to provide facilities, programs and services to Soldiers, civilians and their families in the Northeast Region, to support Army readiness, to sustain the All-Volunteer Force and to ensure infrastructure for current and future mission requirements.

The 99th supports readiness in many ways, such as providing vehicle maintenance at 26 Area Maintenance Support Activities, equipment storage and maintenance at nine Equipment Concentration Sites, administrative support at 14 Regional Personnel Action Center hubs and satellite offices, and training support at more than 250 Reserve Centers located throughout its 13-state region.
