BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan - U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Jamie, 62nd Expeditionary Reconnaissance Squadron intelligence analyst, receives products and goes through them to provide tactical briefs to the aircrew. She also briefs reports to the squadron commander and sends products out to the group commander on a weekly basis.

“My job has a pretty significant impact on the mission here,” said Jamie. “I help aircrews when they’re doing continual base defense over-watching the Army when they’re on patrols. I also help the group commander make his (force protection) decisions for the entire base.”

When asked how rewarding her job in a deployment environment is, Jamie said, “It’s extremely rewarding being here. I actually get to see my work immediately impact the mission.”

Jamie is part of the ‘1000s of Hands’ of 455 AEW Airmen who are crucial to the wing’s mission to generate and sustain airpower on the combat frontier of Afghanistan’s NATO’s Resolute Support mission and Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. The ‘1000s of Hands’ project highlights Vulture Airmen who have a hand in delivering a blanket of steel, technology and courage to protect the force in the field and support Afghan National Defense and Security Forces.
