DRAPER, Utah - The Utah National Guard was activated to assist with firefighting efforts on the Quail Hollow fire Sept. 1 in Cottonwood Heights.
Black Hawk pilots, crews and support personnel from the Utah Guard's 2-211th Aviation answered the call on short notice, responding with two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters to help attack the fire from the air.
Each helicopter made repeated trips to nearby water sources to dip its 600-gallon bucket and drop the water on the flames.
