NORTH LITTLE ROCK, ARK – The 63rd Regional Support Command hosted a Customer Focus Workshop, Oct. 30-Nov. 3, at the National Guard Professional Education Center, North Little Rock, Ark., aimed at providing information and assistance to customers from its seven-state region.
The three-day event featured briefings from each 63rd RSC directorate, covering services and support they offer, while also addressing concerns and issues from their customers.
Speaking to attendees at the workshop was Brig. Gen. Doug Anderson, deputy commanding general, 63rd RSC, who said the goal of the event was to educate and inform those attending what they can expect from the 63rd RSC.
“The 63rd RSC is here to support you, because at the company, battalion and brigade levels, you are the rubber who meets the road,” said Anderson. “We value your experience and the 63rd staff is here to build trust in that experience.”
The presentations provided by the sections prove the commitment from the 63rd RSC, continued Anderson, demonstrating the organizations competence.
“It’s workshops and meetings like this that build relationships and character in our eyes,” he said. “We’re here to build … because I assure you the 63rd staff are highly committed and they’re extremely competent.”
“It’s important for you to see it for yourself and that’s why you’re here,” said Anderson.
This notion was reiterated by Command Sgt. Maj. Ted Dewitt, command sergeant major, 63rd RSC, who said those attending make the biggest impact in the 63rd RSC’s footprint.
“No question is a stupid question, so ask them- that’s what our staff is here for,” said Dewitt. “If we don’t get you the answer, we will find you the answer.”
“You’re the reason why we exist as a regional support command- you’re the customer,” he said.
The seven-state region supported by the 63rd RSC contains over 45,000 Soldiers, 42, 000 pieces of equipment and 1000 buildings, said Michael Stocks, chief of staff, 63rd RSC, and is run by small staff sections in an area ranging from California to Arkansas.
“We aren’t equipped to handle troops at our level, but you are,” said Stocks. “What we do is take care of your buildings and equipment and perform high level administration actions.”
“What we want to do here is to educate you all on where we’re limited and where we need your assistance,” said Stocks.
The 63rd RSC is here to help and we urge you to reach out to us, said Stocks.
“Bring your complaints and voice your opinions -it only makes us better, he said. “We have to fix the things that support you all.”
