MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. - Former Staff Sgt. Patrice Grant joined the Air Force in 1992. Grant served as a Combat Broadcaster at both Detachment 2, 1st Combat Camera, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, and 2nd Combat Camera Flight at Travis Air Force Base, Calif. Those assignments tested Grant in high stress situations and under strict deadlines.
Later, Grant was selected to participate in the Syracuse photojournalism program, which allows military members a chance to get specialized education at a major university for a year.
Grant separated from the Air Force in 2002 and started working at Maxwell AFB, Ala., as a director and producer for the public affairs unit.
After sharing his knowledge with the Airmen at Maxwell for seven years, Grant wanted another challenge. He applied and got a job with the American Forces Network at March AFB, Calif. Grant produced voice-overs, commercials and conducted interviews on red carpet events for AFN.
Grant loves working for AFN because he has the chance to give men and women, who are away from home, an opportunity to relax and watch television.
