The 205th Infantry Brigade cased their colors, Nov. 10th 2015, in accordance with First Army's Operation Bold Shift.
The Casing Ceremony was held at Camp Atterbury, Indiana, in Whitaker Hall, where the 205th was officially deactivated and reorganized under the 157th Combined Arms Training Brigade. The 205th command team, Colonel Robert Molinari and CSM Royce Manis, officiated the Casing with Major General Brian McKiernan, Commander of First Army Division East.
The 205th Infantry Brigade was first organized in 1921 under the 103rd Division. Since then, it has been reorganized and deactivated a few times, most recently having been activated in 2006 under First Army Division East and assigned to Camp Atterbury.
Since taking command in 2014, Colonel Molinari and CSM Manis have successfully incorporated the 205th in several major training exercises including a Regional Expert Infantry Badge (EIB) course, Warfighter Exercise 2015, and most recently at the Multi-Integrated Brigade Training (MIBT) at Fort Drum, New York, in June 2015.
Colonel Richard Shatto, Atterbury Post Commander, presented the Command Team and their spouses with the 'Honorary Hoosier' Award, in recognition of their support and training contributions for the Indiana National Guard.
Colonel Molinari's next assignment is to the Southern Command Headquarters in Miami, Florida.
