FORT HOOD, Texas – III Corps and Fort Hood will host a tree lighting ceremony at 5:15 p.m. Dec. 1 at III Corps Headquarters here.
Maj. Gen. John Uberti, III Corps and Fort Hood deputy commanding general, will preside over the ceremony.
Guests will be invited to sing along to traditional holiday songs. Music will be provided by the Fort Hood Housing Children’s Choir, Patterson Middle School Choir and 1st Cavalry Division Band.
Following the tree lighting, Families will be given the opportunity to have their photo taken with Santa in the east atrium. Food and beverages donated by local businesses will be served in the west atrium.
The tree will be on display until Jan. 6.
Media who plan to cover the ceremony must register at http://www.forthoodpresscenter.com/go/survey/3439/22982/. The gate time for the event is 4:30 p.m. Media should report to the south-side parking lot of the visitor's center.
