    PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii - Media wishing to broadcast live video/audio from the 74th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony for National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day on Dec. 7, 2015, are advised that a clean open source feed will be available, provided generously by Pacific Historic Parks and the National Park Service.

    The live stream broadcast will begin at 7 a.m. Hawaii Standard Time. The program includes a live and interactive broadcast of the 74th anniversary commemoration, as well as a live broadcast of the USS
    Oklahoma Ceremony and a very special live broadcast from the USS Arizona Memorial as Pearl Harbor Survivor Joseph Langdell is interred in the ship. The ten-hour program also includes prerecorded events
    from earlier in the week and educational and interpretive content. The broadcast will conclude at approximately 5:15 p.m. Hawaii Standard Time.

    The three live events are as follows:

    7:40 a.m. – Live Coverage & Live Chat of National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day Commemoration. The live stream of the 74th Commemoration will feature a live chat where those viewing online will be able to ask questions and interact with park educators and volunteers.

    1:30 p.m. – Live Coverage – USS Oklahoma Ceremony from Ford Island. This ceremony honors and commemorates the loss of the USS Oklahoma (BB37) and 429 of her crew. The USS Oklahoma was moored along Battleship Row. She was hit by as many as 12 torpedoes during the attack and capsized 12 minutes after the first torpedo hit.

    4 p.m. – Live Coverage – The National Park Service and the U.S. Navy will conduct the interment of Joseph Langdell, who was a young ensign assigned to the USS Arizona. His family will be present to participate in the interment of his urn into the hull of the ship. Full military burial honors will be rendered to Ensign Langdell by the U.S. Navy, and his interment into the ship will be accomplished by the National Park Service Dive Team.

    Note: At 3:40 p.m. there will be a segment about USS Arizona Survivor Joseph Langdell, and how the National Park Service and United States Navy care for those who choose to return to the USS Arizona as their final resting place. This is only the second time that the memorial service of a USS Arizona Memorial survivor has been \
    shared with the public.

    National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is observed annually in the United States on December 7.

    Its purpose is to remember and commemorate the 2,390 American lives lost during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and on the island of O’ahu on Dec. 7, 1941.
