    U.S. Army Career Program 26

WASHINGTON –The Career Program 26 – Manpower and Force Management (CP26) Proponency Office briefed the civilian career program to students attending the Manpower and Force Management Course at Army Logistics University, Fort Lee, Virginia, Jan. 5, 2016.

Beryl Hancock, chief, Manpower Policy, Plans and Program and chief of the CP26 Proponency Office welcomed the opportunity to review the important roles manpower and force managers have in supporting the Army.

“The course is our launch point for Manpower and Force Managers across the Army,” said Hancock. “Manpower and force management is a complex process. This course defines the building blocks and processes so students have a frame of reference and the essential tools they will need to do their work and ensure the Army smartly manages its resources. ”

The Manpower and Force Management Course is the foundation course of the Career Program. The course is structured to introduce Army civilians and service members to the manpower and force management policies, processes and products. Course work includes study on strategy, manpower requirements determination and resource management, all to enhance operational capabilities and improve efficiencies.

“Doing these visits with students allows the CP26 Proponency Office to gather information about what is going on in the field and helps us to continue to develop a robust program that meets the challenges of today,” said Hancock. “Presenting information on Army civilian careers is important during the course to educate both civilians and military on CP26 and opportunities within the career field.”

The Manpower and Force Management course is offered six more times in fiscal year 2016. The course will be held at various locations across the Army. Courses in Hawaii, Germany and Alabama are currently on the schedule. Course dates and locations are available on the Army Logistics University website.
