STRATTON AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, N.Y. - The website of the New York Air National Guard's 109th Rescue Wing has been judged best in the Air National Guard in a media competition whose results were announced on Feb. 10.
The website, which is maintained by the wing's public affairs section, was judged based on content, professional excellent, the information it provides to members of the wing, design, overall value to the site visitor and compliance with Air Force regulations.
"I am extremely proud of the 109th Airlift Wing Public Affairs team and their recognition for producing the "best in Air National Guard" website. Our public affairs staff continues to spearhead the transition to social media as a means to translate the wing story," said Col. Shawn Clouthier, the commander of the 109th Airlift Wing.
The 109th Airlift Wing, based at Stratton Air National Guard Base, flies the only ski-equipped aircraft in the U.S. inventory. The wing's Airmen fly missions in Antarctica and Greenland in support of National Science Foundation research and have also participated in Arctic missions with the Canadian Forces. Members of the wing have also deployed in support of combat operations in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The Air National Guard media competition was part of a larger all-Air Force media judging, which takes place in March.
The 109th Airlift Wing website and other Air Guard winners in print, video, photography, graphics and electronic media categories will compete against entries from the active Air Force and the Air Force Reserve.
