FORT INDIANTOWN GAP, Pa. -Soldiers with the 728th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 213th Regional Support Group, Pennsylvania Army National Guard had the opportunity to explore an M4 Sherman Tank for their noncommissioned officer and officer development during February's drill.
The Sherman tank was delivered to the unit where Soldiers could look in the interior and exterior of the tank as well as ask inquires of the WWII re-enactors operating the equipment.
Programs like these help to continue to preserve the heritage of the U.S. Army. Additionally noncommissioned officer and officer development helps to foster a unit environment that enhances leader development and encourages self–development as part of a lifelong learning process.
The 728th CSSB is the largest unit within the 213th Regional Support Group with units located from Johnstown to Philadelphia. The battalion’s mission is to manage logistics and support functions for other military units.
The battalion’s companies include: 28th Military Police Company, 128th Chemical Company, 131st Transportation Company, 1067th Transportation Company, 3622nd Component Repair Company, and the battalion’s headquarters company.
