WEST FARGO, N.D. - On a day that only makes an appearance once every four years, the North Dakota National Guard's 188th Army Band will be performing a concert, Monday, Feb. 29, at Sheyenne High School, here. The event is free and open to the public.
The "Leap Day Band Concert" will be a performance made up of five selections from the Army Band, and three selections each from the Sheyenne Varsity Band (ninth grade), the Sheyenne Concert Band (10th grade), and the Sheyenne Symphonic Band (11th and 12th grades).
Warrant Officer James Landman, commander of the 188th Army Band, is also the Sheyenne High School band director. He will be in attendance, overseeing the combined concert.
The mission of the 188th Army Band is to provide music throughout the full spectrum of military operations and to instill in Soldiers the will to fight and win, to foster the support of citizens, to promote national interests at home and abroad and to entertain audiences.
WHAT: 188th Army Band combined concert with Sheyenne High School Varsity Band (ninth grade), the Sheyenne Concert Band (10th grade), and the Sheyenne Symphonic Band (11th and 12th grades).
