KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany -Nine Soldiers of the 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command took advantage of the beautiful weather and the energy of the newly reformed joint task force supporting Juniper Cobra, and reenlisted in a mass ceremony during the joint exercise with Israeli Military Forces on Feb. 23.
The Joint Task Force Deputy Commanding General, Brig. Gen. John H. Hort, presided over the ceremony at an undisclosed location during the exercise. The USAREUR Command Sergeant Major Sheryl D. Lyon was also in attendance for the ceremony.
The reenlistment options for these Soldiers ranged from current station stabilization to station of choice for a combined total of 33 more years of service.
For Spc. Jose Arrieta, a Patriot launching station enhanced operator, with the 5th Battalion, 7th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, this ceremony marked his first reenlistment. Spc. Arrieta reenlisted to be stationed at Fort Bliss to return to his home state of Texas.
For Sgt. Sean Salter, 5-7 ADA a petroleum supply specialist with the, this was his third reenlistment. Sgt Salter will be attend training at Fort Sam Houston in Texas as a 68V, respiratory tech.
"It was a great opportunity to be able to reenlist here," said Salter. He also added that after the oath General Hort took his time to talk with every individual Soldier and made it a great experience.
“It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and a day I won’t forget.”
