FORT GEORGE G. MEADE, Md. - Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force James A. Cody visited the men and women of the 70th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing, March 15, 2016, at Fort George G. Meade, Md.

The purpose of Cody’s visit was to meet with 70th ISR Wing Airmen and thank them for what they do. In addition, the visit offered Cody a re-familiarization of the 70th ISRW global missions, capabilities and impact to ongoing operations.

“What you do here at the 70th ISR Wing – saves people’s lives,” said Cody.

During his trip, he visited the Airmen that conduct cyber operations and Global Access Operations at Tailored Access Operations (TAO) as well as the Integrated Radio Frequency Operations – East (IRFO-E).

With the Air Force making up more than 40 percent of the uniformed workforce within the National Security Agency, the visit also included an office call with the National Security Agency and U.S. Cyber Command Senior Enlisted Leader, Command Sgt. Maj. David C. Redmon.

Cody concluded his visit with an all call with more than 400 Airmen at the McGill Training Center and addressed questions and concerns during the Q&A session.

The questions ranged from BAH adjustments proposals to the new evaluation performance report to developmental special duties and “Airmen as Innovators.”

Cody encouraged Airmen to not worry about the things they can’t control, don’t get distracted by the news and to stay focused – focused on the mission.

Cody finished his visit by emphasizing [to the Airmen] to think about who you are and to remember that you, your loved ones, your co-workers are special. Keep doing what you do.

“The visit was important because it provided us the opportunity to showcase our professional Airmen executing the Wing’s mission,” said Chief Master Sgt. Benjamin Higginbotham, 70th ISR Wing command chief. “He [Cody] really enjoyed walking around and seeing the Airmen in their work environment conducting missions. Their passion for what they do was obvious and contagious. He left Fort Meade with all smiles and very proud of the men and women of the 70th ISR Wing.”
