United States Marine Corps Pfc. Fred Harvey from Dallas, Texas, enlisted in November of 1942 and served three years in the Marine Corps.
He served in 1st Battalion, 26th Marine Regiment, as a paratrooper. He fought in the battles of Vella Lavella, Bougainville and Iwo Jima during World War II.
