FORT INDIANTOWN GAP, Pa. - The national commander of the American Legion toured Fort Indiantown Gap, March 22, along with other delegates.
Dale Barnett serves as commander of the 2.2 million-member organization and during his visit was accompanied by Pennsylvania American Legion state commander Michael Stelacio.
The group observed the 148th Air Support Operations Squadron, 193rd Special Operations Wing, Pennsylvania Air National Guard’s close air support simulator and moved on to the Pennsylvania Army National Guard’s tactical unmanned aviation system, Eastern Army National Guard Aviation Training Site, Virtual Battle Space 3 simulator, and the dismounted soldier training system.
After seeing the capabilities of Fort Indiantown Gap the delegation had a meeting with Brig. Gen. Tony Carrelli, Pennsylvania acting adjutant general, and Jerry Beck, Jr., Pennsylvania's deputy adjutant general for veterans affairs, to discuss items of mutual interest, such as veteran's benefits.
