Maj. Gen. Michael Rocco, commanding general of 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing and Col. Jason Woodworth, commanding officer of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., fellow leaders of MCAS Miramar and 3rd MAW, and the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response representatives teamed up to “stomp out” sexual assault, March 31.
To recognize April as Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, Rocco and Woodworth signed a proclamation and banner to raise awareness aboard MCAS Miramar.
“We need to start thinking of it as [if] it’s happening to our brothers and sisters,” said Rocco. “It’s all about family and looking out for your family.”
In addition to the proclamation and banner, the 7th Annual Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month "Forward March" Walk is scheduled to take place at MCAS Miramar, April 22.
