MIHAIL KOGALNICEANU, Romania – Task Force Warhammer South conducted a small arms range with the Romanian Land Forces.
Joint training events grow participating units’ partnership and ability to conduct missions and support each other.

The range allowed the U.S. forces to familiarize themselves with Romanian weapons, understand allied capabilities, and establish trust between Task Force Warhammer South and Romanian Land Forces.

By making these events a part of the training schedule, the Romanian military and Task Force personnel form a standard operating procedure for operating together.

The range began with the pickup of Task Force personnel in the Romanian Land Forces troop transporter, adding to the experience.

After arriving, Soldiers handled the AK-47 and TT-30 pistol.

Many of the Soldiers had only fired the M16 or M4, making this a unique opportunity for almost every Task Force Soldier.

By conducting the range with primary Romanian Land Force weapons, Soldiers received valuable experience and expanded their knowledge while improving the interoperability of the Romanian and U.S. Army.

"This was a great opportunity to train with the Romanian Army,” said Staff Sgt. Scott Hackleroad with Task Force Warhammer. “We used the techniques they taught us through practical exercise with their weapons."

The Task Force has planned more events including recovery training, drivers training, and vehicle familiarization.
