MIHAIL KOGALNICEANU, Romania – Task Force Warhammer participated in combined movement range and recovery training with the Romanian Land Forces here.
The Romanians led the U.S. forces through firing and movement drills, which consisted of small teams armed with AK-74s conducting bounding movements.
One team provided cover fire while the other moved forward to cover. The drill ended by integrating Romanian and Task Force personnel into the same team.
Task Force Soldiers then switched from trainees to instructors and walked the Romanians through the vehicle recovery process at the motor pool.
Part of the recovery was hooking up the Romanian troop transport and showing them how to recover the vehicle.
Prior to this event, the Task Force had limited to no ability to recover allied vehicles.
Task Force Soldiers can now quickly recovery allied vehicles, which increases combat power and effectiveness of both forces.
The training increased the knowledge of the Task Force Soldiers and Romanian Land Forces so they can work more as a team.
