NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Four Army Reserve Soldiers from the 533rd Brigade Support Battalion stationed at Fort Totten in Queens, New York, were injured when the Humvee they occupied crashed while travelling southbound on the New Jersey Turnpike at approximately 2:45 p.m. yesterday.
The Soldiers were taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where they are being treated for their injuries.
“Tonight, our thoughts and prayers are with these four Soldiers and their families,” said Lt. Col. John DiDonato, 533rd BSB commander.
Those involved in the crash are:
Sgt. Theodore Jackson, who is in CRITICAL condition;
Spc. Marcos Santana, who is in SERIOUS condition;
Sgt. Gedry Concepcion, who is in GOOD condition.
The fourth Soldier’s name and medical condition are being withheld pending family permission.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the New Jersey State Police.
