The project is one of three schools and two medical clinics being built by the task force assigned to U.S. Army South.
The school will feature three larger classrooms, a computer lab, and a small kitchen area for providing meals for the students. It comes as an improvement over the current school house in the local area, which does not provide enough space to accommodate the growing number of students.
The project is scheduled to be completed before June 18, 2016 and will be given to the local community during a ceremony on a date that is yet to be determined.
The project aims to build and sustain partnerships with the Guatemalan communities and provide humanitarian efforts that will preserve peace and stability in the region.
