    20th CBRNE Command

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. – Members of the British Army CBRN force (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear) visited the 20th CBRNE Command (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosives) here Apr. 29. The British Army leaders visited this command to gain an overview of how the U.S. Army delivers CBRNE capability and to discuss best practices learned from their 12 years of operational experience.
Ray Van Pelt, senior civilian executive, Deputy Commanding Officer – Support, 20th CBRNE Command, said the visit provided an opportunity for the United Kingdom officers to gain a better understanding of our current concepts and operational focus. It also strengthened the ties between our two Armies on CBRN matters.
“Throughout the short history of the 20th CBRNE Command, we have had a very strong relationship and partnership with our UK CBRN and EOD partners. It's important that we maintain this relationship with the British Army. We appreciated their visit today; it was a great opportunity to look forward to future opportunities and initiatives.” said Van Pelt.
The 20th CBRNE Command is Defense Department's only multifunctional formation that combats CBRNE threats. Soldiers and civilians from the Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland-based 20th CBRNE Command train with joint, interagency and allied partners around the world.
