The NATO ROLE III MMU on Kandahar Airfield hosted an indoor triathlon competition to promote deployment physical fitness and increase morale and welfare. The competition was open to all stationed at Kandahar Airfield. Competitors included members of the United States Navy, Army, and Air Force, NATO coalition partners from Romania and Bulgaria, as well as civilian contractors currently at Kandahar Airfield.
The competition included a 10 minute row, 20 minute bike, and 30 min run all done on indoor gym equipment, with furthest combined distance between the three events determining the winner. Over 70 competitors raced over three divisions; Individual Male, Individual Female, and Team.
The podium positions for the Individual Female division went to:
1st Place : Specialist Kathryn Powell USA, Total Distance: 19,555 Meters
2nd Place: Sergeant Amanda Rocca USA, Total Distance: 18, 465 Meters
3rd Place : LTJG Crystal Rath USN, Total Distance: 18, 381 Meters
The podium positions for the Individual Male division went to:

2nd Place: Capt Alex Driscoll USA , Total Distance : 23, 242 M
3rd Place : PVT Sandu Valentin Romania, Total Distance: 22, 790 M
