The commander of Allied Joint Force Command, Naples, Italy, visited the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Aug. 31, 2016.
Adm. Michelle Howard met with senior leaders, and other personnel, in Sarajevo to discuss military and NATO operations in the Balkans area of responsibility.
Her short, but purposeful, visit included meetings with Brig. Gen. Giselle Wilz, NATO Headquarters Sarajevo commander, Maj. Gen. Friedrich Schrötter, European Union Forces commander, the United States Ambassador, Maureen Cormack, and the United Kingdom Ambassador, Edward Ferguson, to discuss the progress and way ahead for BiH on their road to EURO Atlantic Integration.
Admiral Howard also met with the BiH Minister of Defense, Marina Pendeš, to address successes of and challenges for the Armed Forces of BiH.
