The Combined Federal Campaign, with the mission of promoting and supporting philanthropy through a program that is employee focused, cost-efficient, and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all, kicks off Sept. 1, 2016.
Staff Sgt. Shawn T. Bear, assistant chairman for the CFC aboard the Combat Center, signified the event with the hanging of the official CFC banner at the main gate, Aug. 29.
“CFC is the only authorized solicitation of employees in the federal workplace on behalf of charitable organizations,” Bear said. “It helps to support a variety of health, human and other services provided by more than 120,000 charitable agencies. This single campaign is the most cost-efficient fundraising method.”
The CFC is an annual workplace charity campaign and will go through Dec. 15. During this time, federal civilian, postal and military donors are able to make pledges to support eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits.
“Some examples of charities are; Help Our Wounded, American National Red Cross, K9’s for Warriors, Kids V Cancer and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America,” Bear said. “If you are looking to help and make a difference the CFC has so many great organizations that I am sure you will be able to find one that touches your heart.”
