WROCLAW, Poland – The Vice Chief of Staff for the United States Army, Gen. Daniel Allyn, along with leaders assigned to the 4th Infantry Division, conducted a tour of Polish military facilities and training areas in Zagan, Poland on Nov. 15, 2016.
After the review, Allyn and Brig. Gen. Kenneth L. Kamper, deputy commanding general, 4th Inf. Div., visited the Heritage House Military Museum where Polish military leaders briefed them on potential training opportunities for future engagements and various personnel packages each training area can support for both countries’ Troops.
The tour followed a prior visit by U.S. Army leaders who recently conducted a pre-deployment site survey throughout the area in preparation for upcoming deployments of U.S. Soldiers to Poland.
The deployments are scheduled to start with the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, based out of Fort Carson, Colorado, and is slated to signal the beginning of a change in the U.S. and NATO’s policy as allied forces start to focus more on deterrence as previously described by Kamper.
Future rotations throughout Europe will demonstrate the continued U.S. support of its NATO Allies while simultaneously allowing U.S. Soldiers to bi-laterally train with their foreign counterparts.
