BELL, Calif. - Navy Reserve Vice Adm. Luke M. McCollum, Chief of Navy Reserve and Commander, Navy Reserve Force, visited Navy Operational Support Center Los Angeles, Saturday, as part of a familiarization tour during his first 100 days as the Navy Reserve's most senior-ranking official.

McCollum toured the facility, spoke one-on-one with Sailors in each department, and discussed his aims with command leadership.

McCollum also held a question-and-answer session which all sailors assigned to the Navy Operational Support Center were invited to attend. McCollum received several questions about facility and process improvement, and said that he will consider all input as he institutes new policy, to include groundbreaking suggestions from Sailors up and down the ranks.

McCollum commands 60,000 Reserve Component personnel who support the Navy, Marine Corps and joint force.

McCollum relieved Vice Adm. Robin R. Braun as chief of Navy Reserve and commander, Navy Reserve Force, during a change of command ceremony held Sept. 26.
