CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. – Cpl Zachary W. Warford was recognized as the Marine of the Quarter for 2nd Marine Division during a morning colors Ceremony at Camp Lejeune, N.C. Dec. 9, 2016.
Warford, a team leader with 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment was personally recognized by Maj. Gen. Love at the morning colors ceremony. He was recognized alongside fellow Marines and sailors in the 2nd Marine Division for their exemplary performance in their duties.
Marine of the Quarter is presented to an individual Marine who exemplifies leadership, morality and professionalism.
Warford, a Floridia native, has been in the Marine Corps for just under four years but has worked hard to contribute significantly to the mission effectiveness of his unit. He commented that even though it is good to be recognized by higher ups, what matters most is that his Marines are taken care of.
Warford had this parting piece of advice to his peers, “Just keep pushing. Times will get tough but you just can’t give up, and you have got to keep pushing.”
