Several Hill Air Force Base families were honored during a charitable holiday gala here Dec. 15.

Utah Jazz point guard George Hill, Jazz teammates and organization personnel, country singer Dustin Lynch, actor Drew Waters, military leaders, and local dignitaries gathered at Park City Film Studios for the annual G3 Holiday Bash to honor and provide gifts to local military members.

“Any time you can give back and put a smile on people’s faces, especially during the holidays where they may not be able to celebrate and have the type of holidays that you have, it’s always good to give back in that nature,” Hill told The Park Record last week.

Attendees enjoyed dinner, a concert, skits, meet and greets, live and silent auctions, and other activities during the evening event.
One Airman received financial assistance to purchase furniture and pay medical bills.

“It really was a Christmas miracle for me and my daughter,” said Staff Sgt. Nicole Drapeau of the 388th Maintenance Squadron at Hill AFB. “The greatest part of the event was watching the turnout and watching all the people that came out to support military families, and hearing everybody’s story. I really, really appreciate everything.”

Though this was the first time the event has been held in Utah since Hill became a Jazz player this year, he has hosted the G3 Holiday Bash for the past six years.

“None of this would have happened without you guys’ support,” said Hill to Jazz teammates, coaches, front office staff, and other team personnel. “I just want to say thank you for all you guys do. You guys make all of this possible for the families that really need it.”

The event’s proceeds will benefit Wish for Our Heroes, a charitable foundation that seeks to assist men and women of the active-duty military, and in some cases, veterans. One hundred percent of donations will remain in the greater Salt Lake City area to assist with basic necessities such as food, shelter, child needs, medical expenses, and transportation.
