The U.S. Air Force deployed approximately 300 Airmen, 12 F-15s and support equipment to Graf Ignatievo, Bulgaria, as part of a Theater Security Package (TSP) in Europe in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve.
The Airmen and support equipment deployed as the 122nd Expeditionary Fighter Squadron from the Louisiana and Florida Air National Guard.
This transition follows the unit’s participation in Royal Netherlands Air Force-led exercise, Frisian Flag, at Leeuwarden Air Base, Netherlands.
A TSP demonstrates our ability to deploy a fighter aircraft presence to support our Allies and partners around the world.
After Bulgaria, the TSP will then forward deploy to other locations throughout NATO.
Units will conduct training alongside our NATO Allies and partners to strengthen interoperability and to demonstrate U.S. commitment to the security and stability of Europe.
