Paratroopers with Charlie Company, 2nd Battalion, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, participated in the 1st Sgt. Funk 82nd Eight Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercise on Fort Bragg, N.C., May 1, 2017. The combat readiness exercise evaluated the unit’s ability to react to an alert, assemble, and conduct soldier readiness tasks at a moment’s notice. Some tasks included a team litter and water can carry to a training site where troopers engaged targets during a stress shoot, and concluded with a maintenance layout and inspection.
