    913th Airlift Group

Ten Airmen recently completed the 913th Airlift Group’s first Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) Event at Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas, which took place Jan. 24-25.

David Ringel, a subject matter expert with MainStream GS, contracted by Air Force Reserve Command, assisted 1st Lt. Jamillah Gonzalez, the process manager for 913 AG, facilitate the two-day event, which focused on identifying problems within the Line of Duty (LOD) Determination process, where injuries or illnesses Airmen receive on military status may effect readiness.

Attendees at the event were coached on how to target problematic areas, streamline the process, and find solutions to increase performance.

“I learned so much,” said Master Sgt. Thomas Herbert, acting superintendent, 913th Aerospace Medical Squadron. “Before today, I saw a process that worked. The numbers showed it was working internally, but outwardly it was not. We have now streamlined the process and made it more simplified and customer friendly. We have found a better way to serve our members.”

Expectations for the CPI events are to streamline and optimize performance of a process and identify performance gaps and impacts to the mission.

“This is a very important process for improvement,” said Lt. Col. Rosalind Abdulkhalik, commander of the 913th Force Support Squadron. “There are times when we need to look at something that is broken and fix it. CPI gives us that ability to tackle problems head-on and fix them for the benefit of the Air Force and 913th Airlift Group.”

Additional CPI events are planned to tackle processes that need to be streamlined within the 913 AG.
