    An instructor from Information Warfare Training Command (IWTC) Virginia Beach announced her selection as a finalist in the Ms. Veteran America 2017 competition.

    Intelligence Specialist 1st Class Christina Wilson is scheduled to compete in the finals in Washington, D.C., Oct. 8.

    The Ms. Veteran America competition aims to highlight the strength, courage, and sacrifice of women in the military. Proceeds from the event go toward providing housing for homeless women veterans and their children.

    “I feel truly grateful for this opportunity, the support and the wonderful hearts of those who have contributed to this cause,” said Wilson. “I am proud to be representing for the Navy.”

    Wilson is a native of San Bernardino, California. She joined the Navy in 2002 and currently serves as the Intelligence Team Trainer leading petty officer at IWTC Virginia Beach. During the semifinals, Wilson presented interior design layout-outs and concepts as her talent. She said she hopes to utilize her interior design and architecture skills to help build shelters and transitions homes for our homeless female veterans.

    “I am running for Ms. Veteran America 2017 to be the strength, voice, and courage I know every female veteran has inside of them,” said Wilson. “I want to help them obtain the power and strength that they all truly hold.”

    Information Warfare Training Command Virginia Beach, as part of the Center for Information Warfare Training, provides a continuum of training to both active and reserve, Navy and joint service personnel that prepares them to conduct information warfare across the full spectrum of military operations.
