22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit
FORT PICKETT, Va. - Combat Logistics Battalion 22 and Battalion Landing Team, 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, the Logistic Combat Element and Ground Combat Element of the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, completed the first week of their off-site training aboard Fort Pickett, Va., a Virginia Army National Guard Maneuver Training Center.
The off-site training is the first major exercise of a six-month pre-deployment training cycle for the 22nd MEU.
The Marines and sailors of CLB-22 and BLT 3/2 participated in events ranging from live-fire ranges for vehicles and individuals, to driving courses to test unit reactions to Improvised Explosive Devices. All of the events are designed to test and hone the units' skills to support the 22nd MEU's scheduled six-month deployment this spring.
