    Story by Frances Seybold

    Marine Corps Base Quantico

The game scenarios recreated real historical battles and the game setups, which ranged from board game style to small scale models, were represented by hand-painted miniatures. Each game included a game master, who acted as a facilitator and umpire, and four to five players including Marines, government employees and contractors.

Although a light-spirited event, careful planning and collaboration were necessary to achieve the desired outcome of familiarizing players with model-based hybrid wargaming. All came away with a better appreciation of the art of wargaming and its potential benefits to the Marine Corps.
