AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - As a member of the U.S. Air Force Academy’s In the Stairwell, Cadet 1st Class Jared Bogdan, a Lambertville, N.J., native, will be performing at the America’s Got Talent semi-final round Sept. 12.
“It is my only hope that the success we have had on America's Got Talent may reach new demographics of Americans and hopefully inspire the next generation of Airmen to wear the uniform we represent on stage,” Bogdan said.
In the Stairwell is the Academy’s all-male a Capella group formed in 2004 by freshmen cadets who sang together in the only place they could, their dormitory stairwells.
The group was invited by America’s Got Talent producers to compete on the show after they watched a YouTube video of the group performing last fall.
“There are so many moving parts in our performances that each member has to be an expert on their piece,” Bogdan said. “Once we have perfected our parts individually, we can then come together as a team and decide what works in the song and what doesn’t. Each part is different but it’s a long process getting the music to where we want it.”
Bogdan is currently in his senior year at the Academy.
