ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEAH, England – F-22 Raptors from the 1st Fighter Wing, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, completed a flying training deployment here from Oct. 8-19.
While in the European theater, the F-22s forward deployed from the U.K. to Poland and Germany to maximize training opportunities, demonstrating steadfast commitment to NATO allies and deterring any actions that destabilize regional security.
The Raptors also participated in Exercise Eastern Zephyr, a Royal Air Force-led exercise seeking to increase partnerships and capabilities between the U.S. and U.K.
"For a century now, the 94th Fighter Squadron has had a close relationship with our Royal Air Force friends and partners beginning with 'The Hat-in-the-Ring Gang's’ first deployment to the United Kingdom in 1917 prior to operations on the Western Front during World War I,” said Lt. Col. “Habu,” 94th Fighter Squadron commander.
While here, the F-22s flew 18 sorties for a total of 26.2 flying hours.
