WASHINGTON, D.C.—Operations Research Analyst Jing Li-Kole received the Naval Acquisition Development Program’s (NADP) Art Diaz Award, Oct. 12.

Li-Kole is an employee of Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division’s (NSWC PHD) Littoral and Strike Warfare Department, Performance and Maintenance Data Analysis Branch. She is a fourth quarter NADP graduate of fiscal year 2017.

She has also served as project lead for the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) model of automated process development to provide critical data of man-hours and labor costs in littoral combat ship planned maintenance to the Surface Warfare Enterprise Board of Directors. Her contributions to this project resulted in a NAVSEA Commanders’ Award for Innovation.

NADP provides vital support in acquisition, logistics-product support and technology programs for the Department of the Navy.

“The Art Diaz Memorial Award was previously a Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Program Executive Office (PEO) Ships award given to a PEO Ships Intern who best exemplified the spirit, collaboration and teamwork attributes of Arturo ‘Art’ Diaz,” according to Director, Acquisition Career Management, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development & Acquisition. The award is based on the “22 Attributes of a Good Team,” personified by the life and work of Diaz, whose legacy of “grace and passion” was written into Congressional Record on May 8, 2013 by U.S. Rep. Scott H. Peters of California. In 2016 the award criteria was expanded to include NADP entry-level employees.

“Two things define a person, your patience when you have nothing and your attitude when you have everything,” said Li-Kole.

Her prior work experience includes the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Accountant Honors Intern Program. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance with a minor in applied statistics from State University of New York at Oswego, Summa Cum Laude, and a Master of Science in accountancy from Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester. During her off-duty hours she enjoys hiking, biking, cooking and Yoga as well as spending time with family.

Her future plans include “becoming a lead in the field of operations research and serve as a high-level problem solver to provide solutions that help our organization operate more efficiently and cost effectively,” said Kole.
