CAMP BUEHRING, Kuwait – The deputy director of the Army National Guard, Maj. Gen. Timothy McKeithen, visited with deployed Army National Guard Soldiers at Camp Buehring, Kuwait, Dec. 21.
McKeithen met with Soldiers from the 29th Combat Aviation Brigade, which is currently preparing to return to the United States after supporting both Operation Spartan Shield and Operation Inherent Resolve. Thanks to the timing of the visit, McKeithen was also able to meet with representatives from the 29th CAB’s follow-on unit, the 449th CAB.
The meeting was focused on how the Army National Guard can better support deployed Soldiers with an eye towards making improvements for future rotations. Additionally, McKeithen recognized 10 Soldiers from the two CABs by presenting them with his personalized coins.
“Soldiers from the 29th CAB and the 449th CAB have been working hard to make this transition a success,” said the commander of the 29th CAB, Col. Mark Beckler. “The Soldiers enjoyed the recognition from National Guard Bureau leadership, especially now during the Holiday Season.”
