A panel will be held at the F.E. Warren Medical Clinic in room Q1 at 10 a.m. on Jan. 25, 2018 to provide answers related to commissioning and program opportunities within the medical field.
The panel is open to all enlisted and officers interested in learning more about getting involved with the Biomedical Science Corps.
The panel is being held to recognize the achievements of the BSC by designating Jan. 22 - 26 as BSC Appreciation Week. This year marks the 53rd Anniversary of the Biomedical Sciences Corps.
The BSC mission is to enhance Air Force combat capability and effectiveness by providing world-class customer service and scientific expertise, resulting in peak force performance, productivity and quality healthcare to our beneficiary population. Comprised of 15 primary specialty codes, the BSC is the most diverse corps in the Air Force Medical Service.
"BSC is a corps of different AFSCs to include those who are bioenvironmental engineers, public health officers, physical therapists, physician assistants, clinical social workers, pharmacists, aerospace physiologists, and biomedical laboratory officers,” said Capt. Ashley Talbot Hawkins, 90th Medical Group Public Health flight commander.
With 2,400 officers supported by 5,800 enlisted members, BSC members can be found in multiple settings in 81 locations around the world. BSC members also serve within operational units, at every level of medical command, and in leading positions.
