U.S. Navy Information Warfare (IW) will be featured at WEST 2018 at the San Diego Convention Center from Feb. 6-8.

Now in its 28th year, WEST 2018, the premier naval conference and exposition on the West Coast, brings military and industry leaders together in a single locale to encourage discussion with personnel that design and build the technologies impacting the warfighter and the information warfare domain. This three-day conference is co-sponsored by Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) International and the U.S. Naval Institute (USNI).

The IW pavilion on the exhibition floor will demonstrate the Navy's commitment to warfighting in the information age through the use of speakers, panels, subject matter experts and capability displays from organizations including the Office of the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Information Warfare (N2N6), Fleet Cyber Command/U.S. Tenth Fleet (FCC/C10F), Navy Information Forces Command (NAVIFOR), Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), Program Executive Office Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (PEO C4I) and others.

In this year’s IW pavilion, demonstrations will spotlight various systems and capabilities that currently enhance information warfighting, including mixed reality technology (virtual and augmented reality) that can be applied to military training, operations and prototyping. Additionally, multi-intelligence, network systems, tactical sensor management, military satellite communications, unmanned undersea vehicles, and the research and development of commercial cloud services will be featured.

The speaker series will encompass a broad range of topics from cybersecurity, military intelligence, enhancements in training and technology, digital warfare, and extensive insight into the IW community status and mission areas.

Military leaders in the IW community who will participate in the speaker series include Vice Adm. Jan Tighe, OPNAV N2N6; Vice Adm. Matthew Kohler, NAVIFOR; Rear Adm. Christian “Boris” Becker, SPAWAR; Rear Adm. Carl Chebi, PEO C4I; Rear Adm. Robert Sharp, director, National Maritime Intelligence-Integration Office Commander, Office of Naval Intelligence; and Rear Adm. Danelle Barrett, director, Navy Cyber Security Division.

"We need to remain a competitive force," said Tighe. "Information warfare is a key warfighting mission area providing new technologies, capabilities and operating concepts to the fight. Success in information warfare, across all domains, demands that we equip our talented workforce with the best industry has to offer. WEST is ideal for continuing this dialogue with our industry partners."
