WIESBADEN, Germany -- More than 45 exhibitors displayed current and emerging technology and capabilities for military and government at the U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden Tech Expo, Feb. 13, 2018, in the Tony Bass Gym on Clay Kaserne in Wiesbaden.

Lizzi Bollinger, a project manager with National Conference Services, Inc., said the purpose of the Tech Expo is to bring military and industry together to better understand requirements and offer potential solutions to existing challenges.

“It’s really to bridge the gap between what industry is offering and what the military needs,” Bollinger said.

She said exhibitors also provided information about technology-related training and education opportunities available to service members and civilians.

Col. Rob Parker, the U.S. Army Europe chief information officer/G-6, said the Tech Expo was a great opportunity for military leaders to meet with industry and learn about new and emerging technologies.

“Events like this really give us a great opportunity to come face-to-face and interact with those who have the best products potentially available for our military uses, whether it’s on our traditional networks or out in our expeditionary environment,” Parker said.

John Dudley, an exhibitor with XTAR, said it can be difficult to connect with military leaders and talk to them about emerging technology because they are usually very busy and focused on accomplishing the current mission.

“We appreciate any opportunity for these tech expos to get in front of them and have even a 30-second dialogue, to continue a conversation later,” Dudley said.

A Tech Expo was held Monday in Grafenwoehr, with upcoming events Wednesday at Ramstein Air Base and Thursday at Patch Barracks in Stuttgart. For more information go to the National Conference Services, Inc. website at www.ncsi.com.
