The Submarine Learning Center (SLC) recognized Roger Humphrey as Civilian of the Quarter (COQ) for the fourth quarter of 2017, Feb. 16.

Humphrey is the field learning standards officer at Trident Training Facility Kings Bay, Georgia.

“As a curriculum manager I facilitate the creation, development, design, review, approval, assessment, and refinement of learning content to better achieve desired outcomes,” said Humphrey. “I enjoy improving how our Sailors deepen their knowledge to support the Submarine Force.”

SLC Commanding Officer Capt. Andrew Jarrett praised Humphrey’s role and exceptional performance in the conduct of course audits and evaluations.

"Mr. Humphrey significantly enhanced the mission, operations and productivity of the SLC through his attention to detail of every aspect of 13 course modifications, 17 data processing course reviews, and two formal course reviews,” said Jarrett. “He ensured proper preparation for a successful monitored convening and provided a summary report that has been adopted as the standard for the whole SLC domain. He is another outstanding civilian who excels on a daily basis in support of the SLC mission.”

The SLC's primary function is to create, coordinate and execute the future training and education vision for the submarine force. As such, it is accountable for all undersea curriculums, training delivery methodologies, and for developing and maintaining professional development continuums for all undersea warfare officers and ratings to include electronics technician (communications and navigation), fire control technician, sonar technician, machinist mate (auxiliary and weapons), missile technician, and all nuclear training ratings.
