Sergeant Robert Taylor, network administrator and current assistant radio chief for the base, is Communicator of the Month aboard Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, Calif. for February. As the lead network administrator, Taylor is an important asset to the organization, always putting forth quality effort in accomplishing all tasks. He led and conducted 12 Quarterly Reconciliations of 387 radio telecommunication assets, aboard two different annexes within the installation. In addition to his primary job, Taylor volunteered for the MCLB Color Guard detail as the Color Sergeant. Throughout this time as Color Sergeant, he participated in 75 walking color guard ceremonies including off-base local events, devoting over 150 hours off-duty work hours to the Marine Corps and local community. Additionally, Taylor conducted approximately 850 hours of volunteer work in the local community at Excelsior Hi-Desert Young Marines. He mentored and tutored local youth to instill many personal skills such as confidence, tolerance, self-discipline, and perseverance while introducing civilians to the Marine Corps leadership traits.
