In order to stay ready for battle, Soldiers from A, B, and C Companies of the 51st Expeditionary Signal Battalion, 35th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade conducted an M4 qualification range on January 30. Over one hundred Soldiers from each company qualified with their assigned weapons.
Soldiers conducted primary marksmanship Instruction (PMI) prior to the range to validate marksmanship fundamentals and maximize success at the range.
In addition, Soldiers conducted weapons familiarization, CBRN and night fire qualification at the virtual EST2000 range to further enhance marksmanship capabilities.
Soldiers gained confidence handling and firing their assigned weapons while utilizing iron sights, close combat optics (CCO) and advance combat optical gunsights (ACOG).
The 51st ESB worked as a unified team during the range from 9am to 5pm with Soldiers from every company either firing, mentoring or running the range.
Qualification ranges like these are important for Soldiers to remain proficient in their basic soldier tasks and to maintain unit readiness.
