    DAKAR, Senegal - Approximately 40 U.S. Airmen and one West Virginia Air National Guard C-130 aircraft will participate in an African Partnership Flight in Dakar, Senegal, March 19 - 23, 2018.

    The APF program is U.S. Air Forces in Africa’s premier security cooperation program with African partner nations to improve professional military aviation knowledge and skills.

    The purpose of APF Senegal is to conduct multilateral, military-to-military engagements and security assistance with African air forces. Approximately 70 African participants from Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Gabon, Ghana, Mali, Mauritania, Senegal and Togo will participate in a week-long session focusing on casualty evacuation, aeromedical evacuation, as well as air and ground safety.

    U.S. Airmen working with African partners include U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa staff members, West Virginia Air National Guardsmen, 818th Mobility Support Squadron Airmen as well as members of the Language Enabled Airman Program. Additionally, the USAFE Band will perform in public outreach events with local community, military and state department members.

    APF Senegal supports U.S. Africa Command’s priority to build capacity for humanitarian assistance and disaster response with African partners.
