Finding an open conference room to hold important briefings and meetings can be challenging for most Airmen amongst the other tasks of the day.
Most command organizations on Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, have their own conference rooms; those rooms are only designated for higher ranking personnel resulting in a shortage of space. To alleviate this scarcity, the Air Force Space Command Leadership Development center provides accommodations to hold briefings, meetings, training seminars and conferences.
“The LDC’s main purpose is in training our Airmen to be better leaders for the future challenges of the Air Force.” Jason Al-Jehanni, AFSPC Command Presentations technician said.
Al-Jehanni serves his clientele by scheduling and prepping the conference rooms in addition to providing general customer service. AFSPC Presentations Office manages this facility and is operated by Al-Jehanni who is an AFSPC Department of Defense civilian service member of nine years.
The facility is designated for self-help and full-service functions and can support up to three events simultaneously. The LDC is open for use to organizations assigned to Peterson AFB and visiting military organizations temporarily assigned or affiliated with Peterson AFB tenant commands. The center provides unclassified video teleconferencing, phone conferences, dual screen projection and DVD replay capabilities. They can also sponsor catered events and luncheons at the requester’s expense.
The purpose of the LDC is to support the customer’s briefing needs. The facility also offers hands-on technical advice to aid with a customer’s event.
To schedule a teleconference, meeting or event, customers can contact the LDC for more information at 554-3304/3070. To schedule a video teleconference call AFSPC Presentation Office at 719-554-3093. The LDC’s hours of operation are from Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.
