Leroy Petry escorted seven wounded service members on their return trip to Afghanistan as part of the Troops First Foundation’s Operation Proper Exit, Apr. 4-8, 2018. Since the inception of Operation Proper Exit in 2009, more than 120 injured service members have returned to Afghanistan and Iraq as part of a unique initiative designed for wounded service members who are thriving in recovery and are capable of returning to theater.
The seven wounded service members met with currently deployed troops at select locations throughout Afghanistan. This event was Petry’s 24th trip escorting service members on behalf of Operation Proper Exit.
